Sedative, analgesic, and muscle relaxant

Xylazine is a medication  from BIOGAIN LIFESCIENCES, used in veterinary medicine as a sedative, analgesic, and muscle relaxant. It is usually administered in a clinic or hospital setting. The dosage for sedation in dogs and cats is 0.25 to 0.5 mg per pound (0.5 to 1 mg/kg) intravenous or 0.5 to 1 mg per pound (1 to 2 mg/kg) intramuscular or subcutaneous. Xylazine can also be used as a preanesthetic to general anesthesia.
